I participated in Sunday's Tough Mudder in Mansfield with several Sandusky firefighters including Chief Paul Ricci. And, although sore, I am here to blog another day.
This weekend there are several area events to get you outside and get you moving. Unfortunately, the event I am doing will probably stop me in my tracks.
It's April. So by now the gyms are back to normal levels after most people have ditched their New Year's Resolutions and are indulging during Spring Break with Easter hams, hard-boiled eggs and candy. Peeps and peanut butter eggs can be addictive.
Sandusky Dance Walker Tyrone Doward is as recognizable as his yellow Hummer with the license plate "SSSOLID." Doward's exercise-while-you-run style has caught the eye of many people driving on Cleveland Road or Columbus Avenue for the past several years.
Tomorrow is the first day of spring, and yes, Punxsutawney Phil was wrong. It will not feel like the first day of spring, at least in north-central Ohio.
Bundle up and hike one of our local MetroParks and get yourself on track for one of the upcoming events.
Good news, the Firelands Area Runners have posted their schedule for the upcoming 5k/10k/run/walk season and it can be found at their website. The proceeds from a couple of runs that are coming up will help a couple of local animal shelters.
We have a challenge for you. You have probably seen our FIT Challenge competitors in the pages of the Sandusky Register and Norwalk Reflector and also at firelandsintraining.com.
Love is in the cold air this weekend with the annual Get Luckey 5k in Wood County and Cupid's Undie Run in Cleveland. For those of you that would like to keep your significant other at arms length this weekend, the Chili Bowl Classic is also Saturday.
