Partly cloudy with a chance of running? Yes, please.
This Saturday's temperatures look to be perfect for 5k run and there just happens to be one in Norwalk. The Earth Day 5k Run is organized by Norwalk Parks & Rec director Niki Cross. Read more about the race HERE.
This weekend I'll be running with some friends in the Glass City half-marathon in Toledo. Some of us are only running a 'measly' 13.1 miles and others are running the full 26.2 mile marathon.
Perkins firefighter Brian Hackenburg is running the full marathon in his turnout gear in honor of fallen firefighter Jamie Dickman. I will be taking photos for Monday's edition of the Sandusky Register, so be sure to pick it up.
I had a late start to training so I'm just hoping to finish. I was hurt and sick for the first part of the year, but a healthy dose of stretching and orange juice helped get me back into somewhat running shape.
And speaking of stretching, I have found that a little yoga goes a long way. There are new yoga classes offered in Sandusky, check out Patrick O'Brien's new blog here at FIT to learn more about it.
We are also looking forward to our first FIT Challenge 5k set for Memorial Day Weekend in downtown Sandusky. There will be more information on that within the next week, but if you would like to get a head start on registering, the downloadable form is below. Click HERE to view photos from last year's race.
