Well, as I had mentioned, this past week was going to be beyond chaotic. It was just that. The week got off to a lousy start, as I didn’t get up in time in order to get to the gym on Nov. 5, and it didn’t get any better as the week went on.
Between different sporting events (state playoff games played at our stadium) and parent/teacher conferences, I didn’t get home from school before 9 p.m. any night this week. I did have a couple of days where I was able to get some yard work done, but those days would hardly qualify as “workouts.” The only saving grace is that on game nights at the stadium, I’m generally making the trip to and from the press box about 10 times, so I’m getting a tiny bit of work in at that time.
Earlier this week, I received an email from a friend of mine who had read my recent blog. He wanted to remind me of how well I had done thus far, and that he didn’t want to hear any excuses as to why I wasn’t getting my workouts done. He told me “that if it was important to me, I’d find a way to get done what I need to get done.” He was (and is) exactly right. I want to publicly thank him for giving me the kick in the pants that I needed. Thanks Paint!
I’ve had a few rough weeks, but it I’m going to be back at it Monday morning. Ladies and gents, just call me “coupon,” because I’m going to redeem myself. I’d also like to wish my fellow veterans “Happy Veterans Day.” Thank you for your service.
