We’re heading into the week that those folks who are worrying about their weight dread: Thanksgiving.
So many options to “fall off the wagon” of healthy eating. I’m not sure why, but in recent memory, I cannot really remember “going overboard” on Thanksgiving Day. (I guess I must have been subconsciously compensating for all of the days, weeks, months that I had gone overboard leading up to Thanksgiving.)
Don’t get me wrong, turkey is one of my favorites, but I have no doubt that I’ll be moderate when it comes to what I eat on Thursday.
This past week, I had two hard workdays at the gym. I’ve started to push myself harder when it comes to hitting the weights. I’m really trying to ramp up the amount of weight I’m using with each rep.
In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been able to add anywhere between 15-30 pounds on almost every different exercise I’m doing. I’ve been a bit concerned about the impact it would have on my left bicep (which you may remember isn’t exactly in one piece) but thus far, there haven’t been any ill effects.
Only a two-day workweek this week, therefore, I’m anticipating having a productive week with regards to getting in my workouts.
One of those is going to be spent digging through the basement, in an attempt to pull out the free weights that have been buried in the corner of the basement for far too long.
My hope is to get them dug out then, on the off chance (which I know has happened far too often) I don’t get to the gym, I can still do some of the work that I need to get done.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy the time with your family and friends. I also want to take a moment and wish my mom and my niece, Sarah, belated Happy Birthdays.
