When I first learned that I had won the chance to participate in the FIT Challenge, I was very excited. The opportunity to work with a personal trainer for free and to work toward my goals was a comfort.
After meeting the other contestants, and my first meeting with my trainer, I now feel more nervous. The responsibility and challenge of what lies ahead of me is setting in.
However, I feel that I have been provided with every possible opportunity to make this work. As someone who has never worked with a trainer before, I am pleased with my trainer’s knowledge level. I was afraid that I would be told just to exercise and eat right.
Now seeing the effort and enthusiasm that my trainer is putting into this challenge, I feel that I have all the tools I need to succeed. The only reason I would not see positive results, is going to my own motivation.
I officially start my regiment on Jan. 1. I have already started preparing. My family and I are going to the grocery store to purchase the items for my diet regiment later today. Then, I have my first training session to record my initial statistics and assess my fitness level. With that in hand, I will hit the ground running on the first.
I really do hope that by the end of this challenge, I have not only started to reach my goals, but make a lasting lifestyle change. I want to come out of this program with the ability, knowledge and motivation to be able to continue making a positive influence for my family.
