Saturday was our first meeting for the FIT Challenge. Because I was not living in town, I was not familiar with the previous contestants and their journeys. It was nice meeting them and hearing some of their weight-loss stories. Seeing how they were able to meet not only their health goals, but also personal goals was great motivation.
I know I want to set short-term goals for myself, but my overall goal is to be fit and healthy. I want to surprise my husband with my transformation when he returns from Afghanistan. My motivation is imagining the look on his face!
Although I think going six months without him finding out is going to be near impossible, I still know it will be a surprise seeing me in person if I meet my weight-loss goal.
I’m very excited to get in The Gym in Huron and start working out with my trainer. Clare Loy seems like she is going to be just as dedicated as I am to help me reach my expectations. I hope to make her proud with my hard work and determination.
At the same time, I am also terrified! This new chapter in my life wouldn’t be starting if I was in shape and able to do it on my own, so I know the first few weeks will be difficult. I know my physical, emotional and mental strength will be tested and I’m up for the challenge!
